Posted by

stevecollingsDirector at Sale accountancy practice Steve Collings, has been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to the Accountancy Profession at the forthcoming Association of International Accountants (AIA) annual Founders Lecture & Awards 2013.

Not yet 40 years of age, this is the second time Steve has been recognised at such a high level within the profession, and at what is expected to be a very prestigious event. Steve, who is regularly invited to speak at lectures for the AIA, comments “It is an honour to have even reached this stage of the nomination process for the highly regarded international accounting body. However I am extremely pleased that my passion for achieving high international accounting standards has been acknowledged.

Steve’s ability to understand, apply and communicate in layman’s terms the intricate details of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) has led him to publish five books on the subject including four for one of the world’s largest publishers John Wiley & Sons. The latest two books were specifically requested by the publisher to form part of the exclusive For Dummies series and reached the top sales position on Amazon within days, resulting in Steve being commissioned to write a third for the series, plus another book, scheduled for release in 2013.

Other work carried out by Steve on an international level, making him deserved of the Outstanding Contribution accolade, includes representing the UK on a global editorial board for a worldwide resource IFRS website and achieving the Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards for Small-Medium Entities by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) earlier this year.

The AIA Founders’ Lecture and Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 3rd October 2013 at Kings Place in London, and the winner will be decided by public vote so please register your votes by clicking on the link below:
